The CFPA is focused on “helping all people live free from violence and abuse”. They help victims of abuse find the care and resources they need to leave abusive situations, heal, and flourish in their daily lives. They also have a crisis hotline 1-800-559-SAFE (7233).
Crittenton Centers strives to protect children and nurture families in central Illinois. They provide three main services: Crisis Nursery, Child Development Center, and Educational and Support Services.
Located in the heart of Peoria, IL, Dream Center Peoria is a faith-based, not-for-profit organization. Their main goal is to assist families living in poverty, especially children and youths, with DCP housing and student programs.
The Peoria Affiliate Clinic opened in 1972. St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is a world leader in researching, treating, and fighting childhood cancer and other serious, life-altering diseases.
This full-service children’s hospital is staffed with over 140 specialists. OSF Children’s Hospital of Illinois offers 17 clinics throughout central and northern Illinois, making hematology, oncology, general surgery, and other forms of crucial medical care more accessible to patients.
Neighborhood House provides services to community members at all stages of their lives. They offer programs to help feed families, children, and pets, as well as adult education and financial empowerment.
Easterseals Central Illinois has assisted children with special needs for over a century. Through a variety of programs, such as animal-assisted therapy, Amtryke, early intervention, and more, they help children reach their full potential.
This is one of hundreds of Junior League chapters around the world. The Junior League of Peoria is open to women who are interested in voluntarism and spearheads a variety of initiatives and projects, such as Giving Tuesday and Kids in the Kitchen.
Operating from six locations throughout the Peoria area, the Children’s Home has been a nurturing presence in the local community for 150 years. From their locations, they provide counseling, education, and support services to adults and children.
The South Side Mission serves 61605 zip code residents, about 49% of whom live below the poverty line. Through ministry work, donations from three thrift store locations, and the Camp Kearney summer camp, the Mission is able to give back to those in need, especially children.
Hult Center for Healthy Living is a non-profit provider of health education services for individuals of all ages. They empower youths and adults with virtual programs that discuss topics like food, fitness, and mental health.
